Mounjaro stock update

What you need to know

•  The increased demand is mainly due to an influx of ‘off-label’ Mounjaro scripts, meaning Mounjaro is being prescribed for reasons other than its approved use by the Therapeutics Goods Administration ie. treatment of type 2 diabetes.   
• Off-label use is legal in Australia as it is up to your doctor what they prescribe.   
• The manufacturer has said they are replenishing stock in Australia as quickly as possible, and have broadened their manufacturing capacity to help patients with type 2 diabetes. This includes: starting to produce incretin at their North Carolina manufacturing facility; and expanding their other sites around the globe. 
• Chemist2U has enjoyed supply of Mounjaro from our network of pharmacies across Australia since 1st May 2024. Chemist2U have good supply of lower dose Mounjaro, despite the TGA’s advice that there is limited stock.
• Chemist2U currently has good supply of low dose Mounjaro (2.5mg, 5mg and 7.5mg) and inconsistent supply of higher dose Mounjaro (10mg, 12.5mg and 15mg).

If your script is for a lower dose of Mounjaro, upload your script and receive delivery within 5 business days.  Should we be unable to fill your order for Mounjaro, it will be added to a wait list. If your order goes on the wait list, your script will remain valid to use elsewhere.  

What is the outlook for supply of Mounjaro?

Chemist2U is well supplied with lower doses of Mounjaro thanks to our network of pharmacies, despite the manufacturer advising that there will be limited availability of all doses of Mounjaro until 31 August 2024. To read more on Mounjaro supply, see the TGA’s updates here.

If you have a Mounjaro script, you can place your order by clicking HERE. If you have a script for higher dose Mounjaro, you can still order and you will get your medication when there is more stock available. You won’t be charged until the stock becomes available. When it is available, we will notify you, and send a payment link to complete the payment within 24 hours. If you find Mounjaro available elsewhere before we can restock, rest assured that your prescription remains valid.
