- The increased demand is mainly due to an influx of ‘off-label’ Ozempic scripts, meaning Ozempic is being prescribed for reasons other than its approved use by the Therapeutics Goods Administration ie. treatment of type 2 diabetes.
- Off-label use is legal in Australia as it is up to your doctor what they prescribe.
- The manufacturer is continuing to increase their global manufacturing capacity. Their facilities are currently working 24 hours a day, every day, to meet current and future demand.
